Sketch: Christmas Crows
That's "Merry Christmas to you charming human folk" in Southern Crow.3D: Character Bust
Slightly creepy but this is a small bit of the 3D sculpting I've been doing. Working in 3D improves your drawing skills immensely.Sketch: Fastag Development
More character transformation--this time with Fastag. I'm doing this partly because I have yet to understand the changes these characters go through. Fastag's chief physical change is, you guessed it, his hair! Just kidding, it's his eye. It's not missing but rather the nerves are damaged and it can no longer open. The earrings (which need to be designed...) are a symbol of status change and refraining from cutting one's hair is a cultural symbol of mourning. Still working out the details on that, too. ;PSketch: Silas Development
One thing I can't stand in a storyline where characters are journeying is when that journey doesn't change them. When people journey through life, they change mentally, emotionally, physically, etc. I've been exploring these changes in my own characters lately. This here is Silas. Silas' journey makes him stronger, confident, assertive, and a little braver than before. Physically, he gets a change of clothes and hairstyle. That, and he loses a chunk of ear. Oops. :TIllustration: Storybook Cover
Making headway on my storybook project!Sketch: Sun
A doodle from last night inspired by Midsummer.Illustration: A Midsummer Night's Dream
A poster advertising Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. :)Sketch: The Foxes
Harriet Fox and Hayward, too! Some more character development.Sketch: Crow in Winter
What is supposed to be missing? Ring finger, left hand. What is actually missing? Middle finger, right hand. I am unreasonably upset.Watercolor: Poppy
Channeling my inner Georgia O'Keefe.Sketch: Wreck it Ralph
I've never drawn Ralph before. Hopefully I did him justice.Sketch: Rain boots
I'm sorry. I'm still in awe of how I have managed to live my life without gray tone paper. Here is a little girl who likes to wear rain boots.Sketch: Graytone Face
This is pretty boring, I know. Still experimenting with the graytone.Sketch: Graytone Giraffe
Graytone paper is my new favorite thing so have a giraffe.Doodle: Gray tone
Bought a gray tone sketch pad and doodling is now infinitely more fun.Sketch: Fruit Bat
Went to the zoo and realized that I need to snuggle a bat immediately.Sketch: Crayon Tree
Today's sketch brought to you by a slightly used napkin and a box of restaurant crayons.Pumpkin Carving: Megamind
Megamind jack-o-lantern this year!Sketch: Fastag&Aura Redraw
This is a redrawn piece from a couple years ago that I used to adore. I typically don't draw many things like this so the posing was and still is a bit difficult. But improvement was seen, none the less. Plus, it's cute.Gift: Sleepy Kitten
Made this for my roomie upon her return. I call her sleepy kitten. She calls me little guppy. We are friends. :0)Digital Painting: Self Portrait
This self portrait is done from both the photo I used as a reference and the drawing I used as the base for my ethnicity studies. :0)Ethnicity Study
These were part of an ethnicity study in which I depicted myself as six other ethnicities. In order: Afghan, Ethiopian, Indian, Kenyan, South Korean, Mexican.Character Sketch: Harriet
She's a cutie.If You Close Your Eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all? Check out process shots here: https://www.behance.net/gallery/19437501/If-You-Close-Your-Eyes.Character Sketch: Anthony
Despite having just taken two weeks off from my endeavor, this is officially my 70th sketch of the summer! :0)Sketch: Business Crow
"Yes, this is Business Crow."Sketch: Cardinal
That's just how he feels in his little hipster heart.Painting Practice: Flowers
