Sketch: Christmas Crows
That's "Merry Christmas to you charming human folk" in Southern Crow.3D: Character Bust
Slightly creepy but this is a small bit of the 3D sculpting I've been doing. Working in 3D improves your drawing skills immensely.Sketch: Fastag Development
More character transformation--this time with Fastag. I'm doing this partly because I have yet to understand the changes these characters go through. Fastag's chief physical change is, you guessed it, his hair! Just kidding, it's his eye. It's not missing but rather the nerves are damaged and it can no longer open. The earrings (which need to be designed...) are a symbol of status change and refraining from cutting one's hair is a cultural symbol of mourning. Still working out the details on that, too. ;PSketch: Silas Development
One thing I can't stand in a storyline where characters are journeying is when that journey doesn't change them. When people journey through life, they change mentally, emotionally, physically, etc. I've been exploring these changes in my own characters lately. This here is Silas. Silas' journey makes him stronger, confident, assertive, and a little braver than before. Physically, he gets a change of clothes and hairstyle. That, and he loses a chunk of ear. Oops. :TIllustration: Storybook Cover
Making headway on my storybook project!
